Do you happen to have a bunch of old tyres lying around? And you say you don’t have any use for them anymore? We think that re-purposing is an essential to the DIY person.

First of all, the rubber from a tyre is a material which is durable and getting rid of it will only hurt the environment.

Oh you didn’t know? Used tyres are usually burnt, which if not done with the correct filtering sends toxic fumes into the atmosphere. So, why not do the wise thing and use old tyres to decorate the exterior wall of your home. Turn them into a hanging planter or stockpile/overlap a couple of layers of them to make a colorful planter.

If you are more like an art person, cut and expand one side of the tire, paint some flowers or perhaps another design and use this to make an unusual, and one of a kind planter.

Here are some examples we have found.
